ALL
IN A DAY’S CRUISE ON OUR UK HOTELBOAT
Your UK hotelboat holiday is fully
catered and we take great care in ensuring the quality of all of
the food served. Each day begins with your preference of tea or
coffee, served to you at around 8am, in your cabin or for the
earlier risers, in the lounge. A cooked breakfast, toast,
cereal, fruits and fruit juice follows at 8.30am and is followed
by a short 'chat' with the skipper about the days itinerary and
highlights. We
generally set off from our mooring by 9.30am to
ensure a full days hotelboat cruising. Morning coffee and biscuits arrive
at around 11am and although taken 'on the move' it is not
unusual to have this whilst enjoying the view from a lock gate
or a bench on the side of the canal. We may moor up for our
light lunch of two courses at around 1pm, if at a place of
interest, or choose to continue cruising. Afternoon tea of
freshly baked delights, such as scones with clotted cream or a
lemon drizzle cake, is taken between 4 to 4.30pm, just before we
moor up for the evening. We may be in the middle of remote
countryside, in the thick of a wooded cutting or in the most
traditional of mooring spots, just up from a canal-side pub.
Dinner is served between 7 and 7.30 and will be 3 courses of
carefully prepared, home-cooked food with a glass of wine,
followed by a board of English regional cheeses, biscuits,
coffee and home made fudge. |

SO
MUCH TO DO…
Each day afloat brings with it
new things to see and do. Flexibility is what makes this holiday
so special; you can walk when you like (between locks, bridges
or the surrounding area), read a book, explore a local village,
sample the ale of a local country inn or simply watch as the
world floats by. Some passengers sketch the ever changing
scenery, others take photographs, but you can be sure that as
the waterways pass through some beautiful unspoilt countryside
there is never a shortage of things to keep you occupied. As one
of our previous passengers put it, “so much to do, so little
time to do it all!" |
