ALL IN A DAY’S CRUISE

The only scheduled items are, of course, the refreshments. Your hotel boat holiday is fully catered and begins with a tea or coffee, served to you in your cabin around 8am, to help you wake. A cooked breakfast, toast, cereal and juice follows at 8.30am and once finished we set off for the day. Morning coffee and biscuits arrive at around 11am. A light, two course lunch will be served around 1pm for which we may moor up, if at a place of interest, or choose to continue cruising. Afternoon tea of freshly baked delights is taken around 4.30pm, just before we moor up for the evening. We may be in the middle of remote countryside, in the thick of a wooded cutting or in the most traditional of mooring spots, just up from a canal-side pub. Dinner is served between at 7.30pm and will be 3 courses of carefully prepared, home-cooked food with a glass of wine, followed by cheese, biscuits and coffee.

For one evening on each cruise, if locks allow, we may continue over dinner, to enjoy the moving views and perhaps a colourful sunset.
SO MUCH TO DO…

Each day afloat brings with it new things to see and do. Flexibility is what makes this holiday so special; you can walk when you like (between locks, bridges or the surrounding area), read a book, explore a local village, sample the ale of a local country inn or simply watch as the world floats by. Some passengers sketch the ever changing scenery, others take photographs, but you can be sure that as the waterways pass through some beautiful unspoilt countryside there is never a shortage of things to keep you occupied. As one of our previous passengers put it, “so much to do, so little time to do it all!"

CANAL CUISINE

All food is freshly prepared in the small and neatly arranged galley by Hanna. We pride ourselves on offering a varied menu of delicious food, prepared on board using fresh and quality ingredients wherever possible. Every endeavour is taken to ensure the standard of our food. Whether it be a simple starter, a full roast dinner or freshly baked bread we take pride in serving quality cuisine using English ingredients. You can be sure of a fully satisfied appetite, no matter how active you may be during you cruise.

We can cater for various special diets, including gluten or dairy free, please just discuss your requirements with Hanna at the time of booking to make sure we know what it is you require.

Click here to see a review written by one of our guests in 2008 for The Coeliac magazine. She required a gluten-free diet and this is just one of several dietary needs which can be catered for as part of our everyday menu of delicious food.
